On November 18, Clarksons Research, the world-renowned maritime consultancy, released its latest rankings of global scrubber suppliers. Zhejiang Energy Marine Environmental Technology Co., Ltd. (ZEME), a subsidiary of Zhejiang Energy Group, emerged as the leader in terms of scrubber order volume.

Vessel scrubber retrofitting involves installing scrubbers on diesel engines of ocean-going ships burning high-sulfur fuel oil, significantly reducing sulfur oxide (SO₂) emissions during navigation. According to the International Maritime Organization (IMO), SO₂ emissions from ocean-going vessels accounted for 13% of global emissions in 2014. By equipping ships with scrubbers, the maritime sector contributes to a substantial improvement in global air quality.
